and of course, my recent karaoke defeat. i can't shake the feeling that if i had been more dogged in my petition for the addition of patches, we would be going on a casino vacation. instead, we're gonna roll way deep to wild adventures. not really such a loss when i put it that way. plus, the extended tallahachicola network made a strong showing, made me feel good, made themselves more aware of how good people on st george island can sing country, and made tracks.which is not how i intended to segue into the babyshambles portion of this post, but it works. ep was worried i would not like this album as much as the first, b/c it's more polished and produced. "more libertines-y" is a phrase i remember. it is more polished than the first album. but it's still ragged and spontaneous and sounds like a libertines greatest hits album to me. pete: you must stop doing drugs. even if sobering up makes you shittier at writing songs, you'll still be better than just about everybody else. also, that story about squirting a syringe at a photographer will still be plenty fucked up and punk rock when you're off the junk.
